As you might already know based on my review of ButaPub a couple of weeks ago, I really like the food coming out of their kitchen right now. They have been starting to do events like trivia during the week and are starting to do fixed price dinners as well. I was excited to see that coming up this Wednesday, Chef Asa Mott will be serving a 5 course menu along with paired beers from TJ Sheehan. The menu is quite enticing and definitely edges towards the creative side of things. The two dishes that pop out to me are the pretzel dumplings in a beer and cheese soup paired with Bell’s Lager, the char siu style octopus alongside confit pork belly with Troeg’s Double Bock. I love both char siu style pork and I’m interested to see how that works out with the octopus!
I’m a relative newbie to beer, but I’m intrigued by the selections that they have made. I’ve started to enjoy the pairing style events after some I’ve tried with coffee at Joe Bean in the past. They’ve got 5 different styles in mind for the dishes so we should be in for a wide variety of flavor profiles.
You can check out the whole menu on ButaPub’s website and see what else is in store for this event which will be on Wednesday the 18th at 7pm. The price is $65 and you can call in to get a reservation for it at 585-563-6241.
See you there!
