On this episode of the Food About Town podcast, Ryan Baker came over to the studio to talk all about Meraki Coffee Company, his pop up coffee shop located in Cheesy Eddie’s in the Southwedge. I had been talking to Ryan for a long time and this was the first time we had the chance to sit down for a long form conversation. Hope you enjoy it!
This is the third episode of my goal to release a new episode every week of 2018. Keeping on track so far and, although I don ‘t know what is coming next week quite yet, I’m sure there will be a new episode for you.
This episode is brought to you by Phrankly. Phrankly is working to make sourcing and distribution for restaurants, farms and specialty goods more transparent and change the way people find their food.
Ryan talked with me about his journey into working in specialty coffee in Rochester, opening his own shop and plenty of tangents along the way. We did try to keep things mostly on the rails and I think we both had a good time hanging out. Ryan even told the story about how I met him for the first time. I don’t remember it, but as he told the story it did sound exactly like something that I would have done.
[powerpress]Ryan is one of those people I could have easily done 2 or 3 hours with in one sitting but we’ll save that for another visit where we’ll definitely dive into some different topics. Make sure to go visit Ryan at Meraki Coffee in Cheesy Eddie’s and let him know you heard him on the podcast. Check out Meraki on Facebook or Instagram.
