On this episode of the Food About Town podcast, my wife Carrie Lindstrom and my friend Bryan Chue joined me to talk about my experience at Anthrocon and food while traveling and on the road in general. This was my first time at a furry convention and it just so happened to be one of the largest in the US to help Carrie sell her artwork.
Thanks for listening and see you out there!
This episode is brought to you by Phrankly. Phrankly is working to make sourcing and distribution for restaurants, farms and specialty goods more transparent and change the way people find their food.
It was a very interesting weekend hanging around while people in mascot costumes paraded around the convention center and I learned a lot about the community and was able to meet a lot of customers that Carrie has been working with for years.
Of course I got the chance to eat at a few places in Pittsburgh including:
- Meat and Potatoes (snack and cocktails)
- Gaucho Parrilla Argentina (takeout to avoid the lines)
- The Commoner (breakfast)
- Penn Society (cocktails)
- Condado Tacos (tacos!)
- Nicky’s Thai (Thai)
We also talked through how we eat on trips especially surrounding when we’re on the road and keep ourselves on an even keel.
